303 Gallery will show new work by Gary Bachman, David Cabrera, Larry Johnson, David Levinthal, Wallace and Donohue
The works in this show share both an ability to be re-read and re-positioned. In almost all cases the surface acts as a facade; a photograph becomes a painting, text becomes a photograph, etc. These artists have a collective interest in the re-working of (art) history, it's constant transfiguration and it's graceful shift from high to low culture. The solidity of the past is best illustrated by it's inability to be preserved.
