This publication explores Léon Bakst’s designs for stage decor, costume, and textile, and documents the exhibition design conceived by Nick Mauss for the Musee National de Monaco in 2016. Each of the books’ fabric covers is hand-stenciled by Mauss in various designs derived from Bakst’s costumes.  Includes an interview between Mauss, Bernasconi, and Bowlt, as well as new texts by John E. Bowlt, Emmelyn Butterfield-Rosen, Nina Lobanov-Rostovsky, Firuza Melville, Nicoletta Misler, and Elena Terkel.
