In her upcoming exhibition of photo-reliefs, Canadian-born Anne Doran continues her examination of photographic imagery and the inescapable impact of the media. Creating objects from photo-collages, she explores subliminal seduction, as well as the overstimulation, intoxication and disorder caused by the info-glut. Doran's sculptures appear fragmented, yet each image used is dependent on the others; one has a sense of logic and geometry, an underlying force equilibriating the typically American swings of control and excess. These are clean machines for processing information and combatting chaos.
